You can safely and cleanly store your sports equipment in a lockable ski and bike room at Edelmanns.
The Sellrain Valley mountain village, the wild and romantic Karwendel mountains, the rugged Mieminger Chain – without exaggeration, the most beautiful hiking areas of Tyrol rise right on our doorstep. Delicious local specialities as a reward for the climb are served by the family-friendly Kemater Alm with a view of the Kalkkögel and countless other managed alpine pastures and huts.
The impressive Martinswand dominates our view to the north. Don’t forget your binoculars to admire the experienced climbers on the vertical rock face. The secured hiking trail to the Kaiser-Maximilian Grotto begins near Kematen and offers a magnificent view of the valley basin. Many climbing areas for all skill levels are within easy reach in all directions, for example the Ehnbachklamm in the neighbouring town of Zirl or the Höttinger quarry above Innsbruck.
The Inn Cycle Path – pleasantly flat and varied all the way to the Upper Tyrol region or eastwards straight through Innsbruck – passes Kematen and near Edelmanns Villa & Suites. The route is the first choice for leisure cyclists and the whole family. Mountain bikers, with or without e-bike support, can head uphill from the house to one of the many alpine pastures. Downhill enthusiasts are drawn to the Innsbruck Bike Park on the Muttereralm with its mountain railway, trails and practice area, or to Bike Republic in the Ötztal valley. A real feather in the cap for experts is the challenging Nordkette Singletrail.
How about summer tobogganing on the Alpine Coaster in Imst? Climbing in the high ropes course in Fulpmes? Or something even more heart pounding at the entrance to the Ötztal, where Europe's ultimate outdoor park AREA 47 serves a lively action menu with rafting, canyoning, MTB workshops and lots of trendy sports in the large water area and on western Austria's first wakeboard facility. Go for it!
Still waters that reflect the peaks and skies: there are few more beautiful walks than along lake shores. On hot days, even a dip in the refreshing water beckons. Just a short drive from Edelmanns, you can circle idyllic natural waters such as Lake Seefeld, Lake Möserer, Lake Natterer or Lake Lanser. Each one is a feast for the eyes and a special place to recharge.
Many guests appreciate the location of our villa and suites for ski hopping in the nearby ski resorts. Cross-country skiers also benefit from the central location to enjoy leisurely laps in the town centre or challenging routes at up to 1,600 metres above sea level. Seefeld’s winter magic, with 245 km of perfectly groomed cross-country trails and several ski resorts for piste enthusiasts and ski tourers, is just a 20-minute drive away.
The unspoilt Sellrain Valley offers countless opportunities for ski tours, including its secluded side valleys. In addition to routes for beginners, ascents to over 3,000 metres above sea level beckon, with crisp powder descents reserved for ski touring professionals.
Pure winter fun and plenty of "fun" with friends and family await you on sledging trips to Rangger Köpf, the natural sledging track in Axamer Lizum, or the family-friendly sledging routes at Birgitzer Alm, Kemater Alm, and Muttereralm. For a more gentle and tranquil experience, try winter hiking. Marked trails in the villages around Innsbruck or on the sunny Mieminger Plateau will transport you to romantic landscapes far from the hustle and bustle.
The Sellrain Valley offers some of the most beautiful and popular icefalls in the region, with varying levels of difficulty. Local tour providers and private guides will safely accompany you through the frozen terrain.
